Nagpur Municipal Election Results 2017 Live Updates: As Nagpur, the third largest capital of Maharashtra, is geared up for the Municipal election results, it would be interesting to see which political parties mainly among Shiv Sena, BJP, Congress, NCP and MNS, win how many seats and who is the winner. The city, which has seen a little more than 55 percent turnout, has 151 seats. In 2012 the total percentage of voter turnout was 52, in which BJP secured 63 seats of the 145-member House. The ruling BJP is not confident of a “spectacular” win commensurate with the quality of leadership and development promise it carried for the city. Party MP and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had appealed to the cadre to ensure 75 per cent polling, indicating how the party relied heavily on a high voter turnout for a sure victory. And yet, Gadkari forecast a conservative 80 seats for the BJP. That is 17 seats more than it held in previously.
Gadkari was also uncharacteristically apologetic about many aspirants not being done justice with. The party had witnessed a big revolt from many during ticket distribution. Gadkari had personally met each of them and actually apologised. Some senior party leaders were not giving the BJP more than 80-85 seats by Tuesday evening. Here are the live updates of the results:
