With the ongoing polling for the fourth phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, 10.23 percent voter turnout was recorded on Thursday till 9 am. With Banda recording a voting of 12.2 percent, Rae Bareli saw a percent of 9.5 voting while Fatehpur and Jalaun recording a percent of 9.8 and 8.66 respectively. The fourth phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh started off on early in the morning, as the total voting activities across the state surpass the half-way mark with only three more phases to go.
In this phase, over 12 districts spread over 53 constituencies, are going for polling including the likes of Bundelkhand, and the Congress-dominant Rae Bareli region. Other districts going to polls in this phase are Pratapgarh, Kaushambi, Allahabad, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Banda, Hamirpur, Chitrakoot and Fatehpur. More than 680 candidates will be contesting the elections, and around 1.84 crore people are expected to vote in this phase.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the smooth functioning of the polling process.
Borders of districts have been put under surveillance and heavy deployment of forces for round the clock checking is made. The results will be announced on March 11.
